Even as the World Wars raged, photographers went about their business impassively. Then what harm could a little economic recession possibly do?

Mr Toledano, in fact thrives on it and prowls around bankrupt offices camera-in-hand. says he, "When I started shooting bankrupt offices I found it to be more archaeology than photography. Everywhere I went I found signs of life, interrupted."

Tilt-shift photography

Tilt-shift miniature style photos are pictures of real-life scenes that are manipulated to look like model photographs. The process normally involves tilt-shift lenses but now you can convert your own photographs into Liliputian worlds with this link.

Time-lapse photography demystified

Dan Hanna spent 17 years worth of taking 2 photos a day as his head rotated in sync with the earth around the sun. Time-lapse photography today needs little more than patience, a webcam and a time-lapse movie application like Flix. If you’re already plotting your lifetime project, here’s a super instructable to get you started.

Story of the Day January 5

Xindian River
The photograph is clearly showing high dynamic range and beauty of the Mother Nature. It is kind of synchronisation of artificial and natural colours. The city lights kind of gels with setting sun light of the horizon. The sky looks extremely eye catching because of clouds and true colours. It is dramatic photograph with complete details everywhere. The most importantly, it is very good decision of keeping horizon at one third. It is very well composed photograph.

The Right Way!
In this picture, the lines written by photographer are interesting, it reads ‘Choose the right way and trust no one! Listen to your heart! That’s red, and the way is black!’ To me it is not a photograph. It is an expression. It is like an expression of a budding poet who is trying to give words to a visual. It seems story of heart broken person, who has experienced lots of ups and downs in the life; by calling path black, and not trusting anyone. Another supporting element to this thought is circle around the arrow (which is called path) in image. Like a shield to path protecting all the time.

Planting Blood
This image looks like a scene from a cartoon film. I am waiting for Scooby to peep from behind the tree. It is an interesting picture. I am wondering how you have been able to get foreground properly exposed with such a bright sky. But the colour of the tree and sky makes it an interesting image. If you have processed a RAW file then I must congratulate for getting wonderful result.
